Mildred A. Hawkins

Died: Sunday, June 08, 2008
Mildred Ann Briscoe Hawkins, 89, Depauw, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.

Born Sept. 7, 1918, at Depauw, she was the daughter of the late Franklin P. and Rosalie M. Simon Briscoe.

She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Saint Rita’s Alter Society, both in Frenchtown.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rubert E. Hawkins; two sons, Tony and Kenny Hawkins; five brothers, Ralph, Kenneth, Herman, Maurice and Richard Briscoe; and three sisters, Winfred Blacknall, Eleanor Harmon and Frances Crosby.

Survivors include two grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Visitation: Tuesday, June 10, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 11, after 8 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.

Funeral: Wednesday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church followed by burial in the church cemetery.

Officiant: Father John Fink.

Organist: Michelle Whittaker.

Pallbearers: Cody Beckett, Steven Hawkins, Michael Raymond, Michael Crosby, Tom Ferguson and Darrell Johnson.
