Born Aug. 2, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Evelyn Amsler.

She graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1956, attended nursing school, earning her licensed practical nurse degree in 1958 from the Nursing School of Indianapolis, and worked as a nurse in hospitals, nursing homes then later in-home care for the elderly. She also worked on the family farm in English, was a member of Mount Zion Methodist Church and the Belle Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in New Albany and was a lifetime member of the Southern Indiana Draft Horse and Mule Association. Before Alzheimer’s inhibited her travels, she could be seen driving the team of longhorn oxen in many of the area’s parades with her husband and family.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Novy Ensor Hubbard; four children, Alfred of Ortonville, Mich., Sheri Watson of Lanesville, Mark of Louisville and Barbara of Jeffersonville; a brother; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral: Saturday, June 21, at Kraft Funeral Chapel with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, both in New Albany.

The family suggests memorial gifts to VistaCare Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
