Carl F. Ott

Died: Sunday, September 07, 2008
Carl F. Ott of Lanesville died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at his home. He was 80.

Ott retired in 1982 from Sun Oil Co. after 25 years, then purchased and operated Georgetown Mill and Hardware.

He was the president of Floyd County Farm Bureau, was a member of the Soil and Water Conservation board, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville and the Harrison County Council of Knights of Columbus, and he served on various committees with the Floyd County 4-H.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Fannie Eve Ott; three brothers, Vincent, Cletus and William Jr.; and three sisters, Irma Loew, Marie Elmer and Viola Ott.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, the former Wilma Kiesler; five sons, Larry and Fred Ott, both of Georgetown, John Ott of Shelbyville, Ky., Kenny Ott of Corydon and Tony Ott of Lanesville; a daughter, Carol Fulkerson of Lanesville; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 10, after 9 a.m. at Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany.

Funeral Mass: Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at his church followed by burial in the church cemetery.

The family suggests memorial gifts to Hosparus of Southern Indiana or his church.
