Max H. Pullen Sr.

Died: Sunday, August 31, 2008
Max Hamilton Pullen Sr., 62, Lady Lake, Fla., formerly of Louisville, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008.

Born in Sparksville, Ky., he was an Army veteran, former owner of Maxx Express Trucking Co. in Louisville, a former Florida regional manager of Eagle Express, a former Lady Lake town commissioner, was elected Lady Lake mayor in 2004, was presented the Kentucky Colonel Award by then-Gov. Martha Layne Collins and attended First Baptist Church of The Villages.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Ray.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Pullen; a son, Max Hamilton Pullen Jr.; a daughter, Kasi Leigh Pierce; two stepsons, Sean and Larry Jr. Lyons, both of Louisville; a stepdaughter, Judi Lyons of Louisville; two brothers, Everette Pullen of Georgetown and Bill Pullen of Corydon; a sister, Faye Rice of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 5:30 p.m. at Southeast Christian Church Chapel in Louisville.

Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the Lady Lake Library Fund, Town of Lady Lake, 409 Fennell Blvd., Lady Lake, FL 32159.
