Marvin L. Kruer

Died: Friday, December 26, 2008
Marvin L. Kruer, 88, Floyds Knobs, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at his home.

Born Sept. 1, 1920, in Floyds Knobs, he was the son of the late Louis and Ella Huth Kruer.

He served in the Marine Corps as a dive bomber pilot during World War II then entered the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves until 1951. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1980 as assistant postmaster, was a member of St. Mary’s Senior Citizens, the National Association of Federal Employees, Experimental Aircraft Association, Kentuckiana Hearing Loss Association and National Riflemen’s Association and a life member of VFW Hobart Beach Post 3281 in New Albany and St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Reva Kruer; a daughter, Stacie A. Boyd of Fairfield, Texas; a son, Stephen L. Kruer of Floyds Knobs; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass: Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.

The family suggests memorial gifts to his church, St. Mary of the Knobs School or VistaCare Hospice.
