Delbert E. Murphy

Died: Friday, January 23, 2009
Delbert Earl (Frog) Murphy, 67, Orleans, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at 12:30 a.m. at his home.

Born Oct. 19, 1941, in Hardinsburg, he was the son of the late John Elmer Murphy and Edna Hendricks Murphy.

He was an Air Force veteran during the Vietnam War, retired from Cook & Glass Inc. in Indianapolis and the minister at Birdseye Wesleyan Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Jarvis and three brothers, James, Harold and Larry Paul Murphy.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, the former Mary Alice Wright; two daughters, Pam Morris of Paoli and Rebecca Gallegos of Traverse City, Mich.; a son, Robert Murphy of Orleans; a sister, Shirley Mosier of Floyds Knobs; three brothers, Curtis Murphy of Milltown and Jerry and Terry Murphy, both of Paoli; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Sunday, Jan. 25, from 2 to 8 p.m. at McAdams Mortuary in Paoli and Monday, Jan. 26, after 10 a.m. at Paoli Wesleyan Church.

Funeral: Monday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at the church with burial in Lick Creek Cemetery in Paoli.

Officiant: Brother Harold Carr.
