Grayce Cobel

Died: Friday, March 06, 2009
Grayce Baylor Cobel, 91, Carmel, formerly of Louisville, died Friday, March 6, 2009.

She was the daughter of the late Ella and Harry Baylor.

She was a 1935 graduate of Milltown High School, a former employee of Hoosier Ordnance Plant, where she loaded powder for 105mm guns during World War II, Kurfees Paint and Medical Depot, both in Louisville, and Fort Knox Management Information Systems Operations, where she was a supervisor until she retired June 30, 1973. She was a lifelong member of Milltown Christian Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Gold Star Wives and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Leland Davis and Paul S. Cobel; and four siblings, Cecile Marks, Joseph Ross Baylor, Charles Frank Baylor and Edwin Wilson Baylor.

Survivors include four children, Harry of Carmel, Ann of Zephyrhills, Fla., James of Anderson and Ellen of Cadiz, Ky.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Interment was at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville next to her husband.

Arrangements: Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers in Indianapolis.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
