Glenn E. Smith

Died: Saturday, August 29, 2009
Glenn Edward Smith, 40, Marengo, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at his home.

Born Oct. 24, 1968, in Corydon, he was the owner and operator of S & S Lawn Care Service and was a former Crawford County Deputy Sheriff Officer and a former Marengo Town Marshal.

Survivors include a son, Steven Tyler Broughton of Marengo; his parents, Douglas S. and Bonnie J. White Smith of Marengo; a brother, Steven D. Smith of Corydon; and three sisters, Kelley D. Hall of Jeffersonville, Cindy L. Ross of Dayton, Ohio, and Shelley L. Smith of Depauw.

Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 2, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.

Funeral: Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Mount Zion Cemetery near Depauw.

Officiant: Jerry A. Swarens.

Pallbearers: Barry Whittaker, John Ross Sr., William Hall, Leon LaHue, Ronald Roby, Michael Smith, Stanley Hulse and James White.

Honorary pallbearers: Douglas Hall and John Ross Jr.

The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
