Arley C. Colber

Died: Thursday, August 26, 2010
Arley C. Colber, 91, Marengo, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.

Born Jan. 29, 1919, in Perry County, he was the son of the late Eddie and Roeana Ethel Ball Colber.

He was a former forklift operator for Jeffersonville Quartermaster Depot, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Marion Dunn Masonic Lodge 19, Marengo Masonic Lodge 479, VFW Post 4209 in Ocala, Fla., Marengo American Legion Post 84 and English VFW Post 6160 and attended Marengo Wesleyan Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Scott, and four sisters, Opal Colber, Irene Hughes, Grace Morris and Stella Dupont.

Survivors include a brother, Henry (Curtis) Colber of Marengo, and a sister, Betty (Marcella) Bye of English.

Funeral: Sunday, Aug. 29, at Brown Funeral Home in Milltown with interment in Hamilton Cemetery near English.

Officiant: The Rev. Mark Manship.

Masonic funeral rites: Performed by the Marengo Masonic Lodge.
