Edward E. Overton Sr.

Died: Thursday, February 17, 2011
Edward E. Overton Sr., 86, Corydon, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at his home.

Born Feb. 25, 1924, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Homer Overton Sr. and Elsie Rhodes Overton.

He was a retired production supervisor at Keller Manufacturing Co. in Corydon for 45 years and was one of the last employees to manufacture wagons, was the former owner and operator of the Marengo Horse and Tack Auction Barn, was a Navy veteran of World War II and was an owner and breeder of registered Tennessee walking horses.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Edward E. Overton Jr.; a grandson, Wesley Overton; two brothers, Walker and Homer Overton Jr.; and three sisters, Albertine Watson, Charlotte Holt and Millie Bennett.

Survivors include his wife, the former Katy Sanders; three daughters, Margaret Taylor of Crandall, Elsie Yahraus of Corydon and Jenny Taylor of Corydon; three stepsons, David Hendrich of Depauw, Marty Hendrich of New Salisbury and Paul Hendrich of Georgetown; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Saturday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 20, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Sunday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Officiant: Brother Vince Garmon. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Pallbearers: Paul Hendrich, Larry Lone, Jason Overton, Steve Taylor, Steve Yahraus and David Hammontree.
