Wilma J. Vandeveer

Died: Sunday, February 27, 2011
Wilma Jean Young Vandeveer, 87, Dillsboro, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, in Dillsboro.

Born Sunday, Feb. 21, 1924, in Prairie County, Ill., daughter of the late Charles Young and Carrie Deich Young.

She worked in the factory for Cochran Chair and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wickliffe and a friend to First Baptist Church of Aurora (Ill.) through tape ministry, communion and visits.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Aileen Young, and a brother, Charles L. Young.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Vandeveer Bryant of Aurora; a brother Robert Young of Indianapolis; two sisters, Norma Spears of Eckerty and Lenora Ann Wuest of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Thursday, March 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home in Aurora and Friday, March 4, from noon to 2 p.m. at Denbo Funeral Home in English.

Funeral: Friday, March 4, at 2 p.m. at Denbo Funeral Home with interment in Wickliffe Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the First Baptist Church Sanctuary Fund or charity of donor’s choice.
