Margherita L. Loudon

Died: Thursday, March 24, 2011
Margherita L. (Margie) Loudon, 81, Depauw, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, while vacationing in New Orleans.

Born Nov. 5, 1929, in Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Enrico (Harry) and Maria Zito Liva.

She was a retired director of Daviess County Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, a member of Unity Chapel United Methodist Church near Ramsey, served many years in various positions in church and community groups, including the United Methodist Church local, district and conference committees, was a 40-year member of Girl Scouts and a past United way Campaign Director in Daviess County.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carman J. Loudon, and a daughter, Gilda D. Gregg.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Michael Loudon of Charleston, Ill.; two daughters, Jean Loudon of River Falls, Wis., and the Rev. Laura Loudon McDonald of Palmyra; two sisters, Adele Edgeworth of Sarasota, Fla., and Gilda Caruso of Dover, Del.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Wednesday, March 30, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey and Thursday, March 31, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Unity Chapel United Methodist Church south of Ramsey.

Funeral: Thursday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the church with burial in Loudon Chapel Cemetery near Depauw.

Officiants: the Revs. Jeff Reed and Joe Kamman.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the Loudon Chapel Cemetery Fund, in care of Nancy Leffler, 5780 Baker Hollow Road NW, Depauw, IN 47115.
