Rita F. Gettelfinger

Rita Faye Gettelfinger, 80, Depauw, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at her home.

Born in New Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Helen Shewmaker Kannapel.

She was a retired office manager/bookkeeper for the Harrison County Highway Dept., a Retired Senior Volunteer Program member, a Democrat vice precinct person, the 2008 Harrison County Woman Philanthropist and a member of LifeSpan Advisory Board and St. Bernard Church at Frenchtown.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P Gettelfinger Jr., and a brother, Robert Kannapel.

Survivors include her companion of 25 years, Ed Sieg; four sons, Wayne of Elizabeth, Richard of Tallahassee, Fla., Leo of Charlotte, N.C., and Tom of Jeffersonville; and two daughters, Janice Redden of Elizabeth and Anna Gettelfinger of Jeffersonville.

Visitation: Sunday, Jan. 6, from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Church in New Middletown with burial in Most Precious Blood Cemetery.

Officiant: Father Fred Dennison.

Pallbearers: Chris Walden, Kevin Burch, Danny McPhillips, Jack Laufer, Tony Gettelfinger, Reid Ledford and Willard Haas.
