“Get out, get it done and go home.” Corydon Central harrier Marcie Stewart and her teammates took one of the coaching philosophies of Corydon Central cross country coach Kevin Potter to heart and ran with it. At Thursday’s Cougar Classic, hosted by North Harrison in Ramsey, Stewart left the field beyond her heels as the going away winner of the girls’ race. Before the 2017 football season began, Floyd Central senior quarterback Matt Weimer wanted the first game against Louisville Male to be a catalyst to prepare the Highlanders for the rest of the schedule. North Harrison’s Friday night football opener against visiting Salem was important in several ways. First, it was a Mid-Southern Conference game, and winning the ones at home are especially important if the race to the top gets tight. Second, it was against a talented opponent with more size and would give the Cougars a real test to start the season.
