• I saw a wonderful suggestion on Facebook, and I think it needs to be enforced. It says: Can supermarkets please stay open for the elderly only in the mornings for about two hours so they can do their shopping? Protect them from their madness. Now, this sounds like a fantastic idea because many older people can’t get what they need and can’t get around because the younger people are going and shoving them around … I saw one young man probably in his early 20s with a bunch of boys because they took 10 loaves of bread and 12 packages of toilet paper and kept it and this older woman was almost in tears because all she wanted was a roll of toilet paper and a loaf of bread. I had both, one for me and one for a neighbor who couldn’t get out. I gave this poor old woman what I needed for myself because the older person that I was buying for was the same age as this one. … Now, I for one am in my mid-60s. I have been shoved around just like this older woman was and she’s old enough to be my mother. Please, somebody take this into consideration. …

• I’m just calling in support of our president. I read (recently) in the Clarion Calls people saying they think they’ll vote Democrat this year instead of Republican. How can you vote for a Democrat? …

• To the caller that is voting Democrat instead of Republican, you say when with Republicans you seen what you got us. Why don’t you tell us because I see more job growth, stronger military and so much more and a president that puts us, the American people, first in every decision it makes. So, tell us what has it gotten us? …

• I’d like to talk about the contrast between the old Republican governor of Kentucky and the new Democrat governor of Kentucky. It’s like night and day. This makes me want to swing my vote back over to the Democrats.

• I’m sure glad President Trump and Vice President Pence are in charge of this pandemic. I remember the last one back in ’09-10; they waited six months, Biden and Obama did, after thousands of people died and tens of thousands were sick as (heck). Obama kept playing golf and going back and forth to Hawaii …

• The caller in the March 18 edition who defended Donald Trump’s vacations and Daytona 500 car ride was very much mistaken. Not only did President Obama not fly to Chicago for a cheeseburger, but he was attacked constantly for any golf trips or vacations and almost everything he did by the far right. One of his loudest, most constant critics was none other than Donald J. Trump himself …

• I would just like to say that it seems like a lot of folks have forgotten the Bible verse forsake not your assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is but do it all the more as you see the day approaching. That may not be word for word, but you get the idea. It was really sad to see all these churches closed.
