Woman charged with homicide following shooting
A woman was incarcerated in the Crawford County Jail following the death of a Newburgh man.
According to a report, the Indiana State Police responded to a shooting Friday at about 8:50 p.m. that occurred in the 2400 block of North Dillard Road, Birdseye.
Preliminary investigation showed that Lisa Harris, 57, of Newburgh, shot Michael Harris, 56.
Michael Harris was treated for serious injuries at the scene by Crawford County EMS and transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
Lisa Harris was incarcerated in the Crawford County Jail for homicide.
Besides Crawford County EMS, the Indiana State Police was assisted at the scene by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation is ongoing.
