Crawford’s COVID numbers increase 16
The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Crawford County rose by 16, to 892, in the past week.
Locally, there were no reports of new deaths from the virus, leaving Crawford County’s total at 13.
Statewide, the number of Hoosiers who have died from COVID-19 reached 11,765 Sunday, an increase of 364 since last week. There have been 649,652 positive cases of the virus.
To date, 7,573,363 tests for virus have been performed, with 3,053,929 unique individuals being tested.
Just one of Indiana’s 92 counties, Switzerland, remains in the red zone, the highest of four designations based on positivity rate of residents. Crawford remains in an orange zone, the second highest. No counties are in the blue zone, the lowest of the four.
Health officials continue to vaccine those 65 and older and those who have pre-existing conditions and health care workers
The Crawford County coronavirus task force’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. The task force, which had been meeting weekly since last March, went to monthly meetings after its last meeting in January.
