Georgetown business receives grant Georgetown business receives grant

Village House Coffee owner Chloe Franklin receives a $4,525.76 grant from the Georgetown Redevelopment Commission which helps fund $12,000 in improvements to her shop. Franklin upgraded the shop’s entrance and added a covered, enclosed patio for outdoor sipping and dining. Franklin is now serving alcohol at special monthly events. She opened Village House Coffee eight years ago. Chris Loop, president of the redevelopment commission, said this is the first large grant awarded and more are planned. The money comes from a Tax Increment Financing district with about $100,000 annually coming from Indiana American, which purchased Georgetown’s water system.
