Crawford County Assessor’s Office will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 27, for staff to attend the assessor conference in Indianapolis.

Crawford County Soil & Water Conservation District board will meet Monday, Aug. 23, at 4 p.m. at the Crawford County Community Park south of Marengo.

Georgetown Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Thursday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the town hall.

Harrison County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Thursday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. at the government center in Corydon.

Harrison County Council will meet Monday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. at the government center in Corydon.

Harrison County Parks board will meet Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. at Buffalo Trace Park near Palmyra.

Harrison County Public Library board will meet Thursday, Aug. 26, at 3 p.m. in the basement of the Griffin Center in Corydon.

Harrison County Regional Sewer District board will meet Friday, Aug. 20, at 8:30 a.m. at the Harrison County Community Foundation building in Corydon.

Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission will meet Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the commission, 221 E. First St. in Ferdinand.

Patoka Lake Regional Water & Sewer District board will meet Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m. in the district’s operations facility meeting room located at 2647 N. State Road 545 in Dubois.

Church

Blue River Church of Christ/Cemetery Foundation Inc. will have homecoming Sunday, Sept. 19, with worship at 11:30 a.m. followed by a basket dinner at 12:15 and annual board meeting at 1:30. Bring folding chairs and covered dish; drinks and table service will be provided.

Palmyra Church of Christ will celebrate its 150th anniversary Sunday, Aug. 29. The day’s events will include Bible classes and first viewing of church history video at 9:15 a.m.; worship with special guest speaker Robert Curry at 10 a.m.; complimentary dinner on the church grounds, catered by Ron and Linda Smith from noon to 1:30; congregation singing at 2 p.m.; another viewing of the church history video at 3; a time of sharing memories and stories at 4; and an evening devotional service by Greg Circle at 4:30.

Sulphur Pentecostal Church will host the Open Heart quartet on Sunday, Aug. 22, at 10:30 a.m. The church is located along S.R. 237. Pastor is Chad Stroud.

Miscellaneous

Floyd County Historical Society will meet Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Carnegie Center for Art & History, 201 E. Spring St., New Albany. The program, “History of the Monon Railroad, Exhibit and Program,”  will be presented by Elizabeth Ann Grennan Browning, a Midwestern/Indiana Community History Fellow, Indiana University Environmental Resilience Institute. The exhibit can be viewed prior to the meeting beginning at 5 p.m. Due to the current increase in COVID-19 cases, masks are strongly recommended. The meeting is open to the public.
