Crawford County’s recycling centers will be closed Thursday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day.

Crawford County Solid Waste Management District board will meet Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 2:30 p.m. at the district office at English.

Harrison County Council will meet Monday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. at the government center in Corydon.

Church

Lincoln Hills United Methodist Church’s food pantry will have  distribution Saturday, Nov. 6, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are to stay in their vehicle; volunteers will bring the food to the vehicle. New clients must show proof of residence in Crawford County. Marengo Pilgrim Holiness Church at 6347 E. Speed Road, Milltown, is hosting a revival through Sunday, Nov. 7. The revival starts each night at 7 through Saturday. Sunday times will be 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The pastor is Doug Cox. For more information, call 1-740-416-1396.

Miscellaneous

Crawford County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 5:30 p.m. at 310 Oak Hill Circle in English with a show-and-tell program. Attendees are asked to bring an item with a good story. For more information, visit www.cchgs.org.

Hardinsburg Senior Citizens will have a breakfast Saturday, Nov. 6, from 7:30 to 9:30. Cost will be $6 per adult.

Mount Sterling Historical Association will have its annual meeting Saturday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. at the cemetery shelter house.

Patoka Lake will host a naturalist-led Tranquility Hike Saturday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. beginning at the Nature Center and traversing 3/4 of a mile on Trail 4. Veterans

American Legion Post 84 at Marengo will have meetings the third Monday of the month for post members only, with Ladies Auxiliary at 6 p.m., Sons of the American Legion at 6:30 p.m. and Legionnaires at 7 p.m. (no outside members or guests at this time). American Legion Post 332 Legionnaires meet the second Tuesday at 7 p.m.; Sons of the American Legion meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.; the Legion Auxiliary meets on the third Tuesday at 7 p.m.; the Riders meet on the fourth Tuesday at 7 p.m., all at the post home at Milltown. The post also offers a euchre tournament each Monday at 7 p.m. (cost is $5; doors open at 6 p.m.) and bingo on the first Friday of each month at 7 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.). The post’s annual license number is 000269.

American Legion Ralph E. Parr Post 133 at Alton, Legionnaires, Ladies Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion meet the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m.
